OUR FUTURE PLANS
In January 2012, we will be moving our Service Center from our current 2,000 sq. ft. to a 3,500 square foot facility to accommodate more veterans.
In June 2012, we will be opening a fifty (50) bed facility in Garden Grove in collaboration with Cactus Gardens, a State Licensed Drug and Alcohol facility, to provide an intensive substance abuse program for unaccompanied male and female veterans.
In 2012, we will be opening a Security Guard training program in collaboration with the Guard Training Center of Los Angeles. We will also be starting Veterans First Security to provide employment for returning veterans.
In 2012, with a grant from HUD, we will also be offering a program for seven (7) disabled veterans with families to live permanently in subsidized two-bedroom apartments which also include case management and child care services.
In 2012, in collaboration with the County of Orange, we will be offering twelve (12) subsidized permanent housing for males and female veterans through the Shelter Plus Care Program.
One of Veterans First’s future goals is to establish a series of Veterans Assessment Centers and Shelters (VACS). These emergency shelters will offer around the clock aid to veterans in need. In the short term, we are looking to establish a Central Orange County VACS facility in Santa Ana and have a long term plan to set-up additional locations in Northern and Southern Orange County.
